I deeply regret that I misread the announcement about the
removal of Gaison's post. It was NOT Rich Hansen that
censored the post, but the mysterious "administrator" who's
name no man knows.

I sincerely apoligize for taking out on Rich Hansen what I
should have taken out on the adminstrator. My guess is that this
decision to censor William was as bogus to Rich as it was to
me.

Any comments, administrator?

Higgs

For the purposes of full disclosure, I am the admin so you were right indirecting your anger at me.

Again for the purposes of full disclosure, this board is not run by Madeleine or Rounder but by me. I have good relations with both Madeleine and Rounder but I am responsible for all policies on this board.

And yes Madeleine's official website does link to this board. I am very pleased that they felt they could do that instead of starting a competeing discussion board

Well, Rich, I am sorry to hear that. Does this mean it was your
decision to ban the discussion of "Got You On My Mind" from
the beginning? You told me before that that was not your
decision.

As for your threat to make this a "moderated board": excuse
me, but you banned discussion of a competing CD by
Madeleine for eight months, and you now are banning William
Galison from answering questions by Madeleine fans.

If this is not a "moderated board" already, then what the heck
is?

More later....

A moderated board is one where no message are posted until the moderator has approved the message. In that kind of board there would be no need to delete messages that were deemed inappropriate because they would never get up.

Keeping the earlier discussion of 'Got You on My Mind' of the board was my decision based on input from the outside. Call it self serving but this board is devoted to Madeleine and I believe it is important to abide by her wishes in some cases.

The decision to remove William's recent post was entirely my decision and I stand by it. I reiterate that this is not the place for what William  posted. If he had simply stated that there was an activite disagreement with Madeleine and Rounder that would have been fine.

But this board will NOT be place to discuss the legal and/or ethical merits of William's dispute with Madeleine and Rounder.

This board can be the place to discuss what the fans think about 'Got You On My Mind'. I feel very strongly that that is very appropriate.

Dear Mr. Webmaster,

As an early poster of 'Got you on my mind' that was
also infurtiatingly gagged ( I mean, it wasn't as if I
was recommending some nazi manifesto) and after
reading the recent posts by both you and higgelty I
would just like to make one request--if you (so
rightly) feel as if this board is an appropriate place to
dicuss the merits of said album then why doesn't it
appear on her discography?? At least under 'Albums
that Madeleine has appeared on'. I do feel that this
gesture would lend the controversy at least a more
balanced tone and not give the impression that there
is truly some form of conspiracy theory at work. I
mean I have the album, it's being played on local
radio here and it's not a figment of my imagination,
so I do think it deserves a place in this section of the
site.

You never know, it might smooth things over!

thanks, Baranroma

Funny you should mention that.  This is currently on my to do list. Expect to see it in the next couple of weeks. In fact I plan to build a review page for 'Got You On My Mind'

And thanks for yours and everyone's patience in this regard to this subject.

Good news. I forgot I had already built the discography for 'Got You On My Mind'. Just had to do some fine tuning. So its now part of the discography.

Thanks for reminding me of this.
