I think these recordings have a wonderful charm of their own and show the fun a travelling street band can have. Maybe Rounder should buy an interest in these records and distribute them so that Dan can ease up a little on the hustlin'! As for Gene Clarke - plays piano and trumpet at the same time...and is one of the best swing trumpet players around.....They love their life ...and you can tell!
