Dear Friends,

I hope you will check out my rather lengthy post on Higgelty's
topic.
(admin note: I have removed William's note. This not the proper forum for his dispute with Madeleine & her management.)

You can find an accurate (but cautious) account of the
Got You On My Mind controversy, at the JazzPolice.com
website:

http://www.jazzpolice.com/index.php?option=com_content&
task=view&id=5027&Itemid=2

I look forward to hearing your thoughts and answering any
questions you may have on this subject.

Yours truly,

William Galison

Rich,

If it was you that censored Galison- you really disappoint me, I
thought you were bigger than that.

You say that this is not the proper forum to discuss Galison's
"dispute with madeleine and her management" Did you read
the post? It hardly mentions Madeleine or her management. It
talks about Rounder and Madeleine's lawyers who have
apparently tried to keep us from buying a Madeleine Peyroux
CD. He specifically says that he has no idea what madeleine's
role in this dispute is and speaks respectfully and fondly about
her.

If this is not the forum to discuss this matter, why have there
been far more hits on this subject than any other topic in the
history of this site? Madeleine's fans are more eager to know
about this Cd and the lawsuit than they are to read more praise
about Careless Love from distant lands. We already know that
Careless Love is a great album- tell us something we don't
know. This is a topic that effects us as fans, and could welll
effect madeleine's career if Galison's accusations are accurate.
What other forum do you have in mind?

Why did you become a webmaster in the first place- if not to
generate thoughtful honest discussion? You owe us a better
explanation.

C'mon man. Act like a citizen of the free world! Have a little
respect for the intelligence and judgement of your web-
servants, or whatever you webmasters call us non-webmasters.

Put Galison's letter back on line. He was only answering
questions from Madeleine fans like me.

William, although your message was edited by the forum moderator (and I do understand that whoever owns a forum has the right to determine what can be discussed), thank you for making the effort to clear up the situation regarding Got You on My Mind.  Many fans (like me!) have been curious about the album but unable to buy it locally, which was puzzling since Madi's other albums are available in local record shops.  I appreciate your attempt to explain what happened.  Thanks again.

Hhmmm, censorship!

The forum says "disucssion of all things Madeleine".

I guess that means all things that you deem "appropriate".

Cesnoring Galison makes this site nothing but a Madi Gush Site. Certainly Madeleine could have responded to her fans. SO could Rounder. They prefer to say nothing and you decide what other can say.

I won't be back to this site.

Cheers
Cheers!

It seems to me entirely reasonable that the posts of someone who is actively suing you be restricted from your website! I find  it admirable, even astonishing, that any of W. Galison's posts have been permitted here.

Am I alone in finding this topic tedious? Or is it true that conflict is the only entertainment that we get off on these days?

Congratulations to cornishjazz for being like the little boy in the Emperors new clothes who said the truth. I returned to this site to see it overun by what appear to be sharks closing in for the kill. And the object of attack? One of the finest artists and people it has ever been my fortune to know. Getting back to why the object of all this attention was so awful the night
I saw her, anybody have any theories? Was it just a bad night, and if so
why did she suck again in Salt Lake? Hunderd bucks worth of tickets
down the drain. Hey, maybe I should sue somebody!

A standing ovation would indicate something. Perhaps beauty and music, are in the eye of the beholder.

No, she sucked. I was there. The standing ovation I can only imagine was
the result of the more reality challenged in the crowd. Half of us were
glued firmly in our seats. Iris Dement did a short opening set that was
honest and endearing. She got a big hand from the crowd and deserved
it. Peyroux benefited from the "...well, it must have been good, she's the
headliner" part of thr audience, I guess.

I remember when I first heard Bob Dylan, years ago. My first response was " What IS this?" That was my early response. I went on to collect all his records and attend every concert I could find. Madeleine is not your average singer. But study her more. I think you'll find it worth the effort.
