I recently found out about Madeleine, and after I finished my holiday shopping, I bought "Careless Love."

It's been a long, long time since I've felt so excited over a new album--in any genre.  How can anyone have a voice that's so haunting, engaging and all her own, all at once?  The album's tracks have replayed almost nonstop in my head since I got the CD.

I've also got to love anyone who can deliver a line like "Sometimes you've got to lose it all before you find your way."  It is the absolute truth.  I know:  I'm a transgender woman, and that is the story of my transformation.

I have just discovered Ms Peyroux!!  Careless Love is my first listen to her....what a hauntingly fantastic voice.  I am thrilled to have found her. 

I only wish she had a Florida city on her tour....or at least the Southeast on the schedule.

What a find indeed!

we arrived a bit late, but having booked were escorted to a table about 4 ft from the hammond organ. It was all a bit strange at first as clearly a lot of people didint know what she looked like. Arrived on stage and at last some applause.

Stunning is the only way to describe her voice. I thought she might have been a bit nervous, and I dont think that people eating their pizza a few feet away helped. But she performed beautifully.

I think that one day I will be able to say "we were there on that famous night"

Need to see where she is singing again soon

Stuart -did you enjoy the gig at the Pizza Express as much as I did -I thought she was fantastic and a very beautiful lady as well as the best jazz singer in the world at the moment - it was a rare privilege. I would go to the Festival Hall gig if I could (although I doubt this is the best environment to showcase her style) and I am going to buy at least 10 of the CDs to give away this Xmas - how about doing the same ?

I first heard this voice while sitting in a remote farm house in Vermont - 3 feet of snow outside th huge panoramic window - at breakfast - we were visiting friends who ran a very nice "Inn" in Brarnard. Its not often I relax, but when I heard the voice I knew it would not be the last time - especailly as we bought Dreamland straight away -

So now there is Careless Love - what should I do? - wait until I have heard Madeleine at PizzaExpress on the 14th Nov or buy it now -

Think I will wait -

I was really surprised, when I heard Madleine for the first time in Polish radio. "Dance Me To The End Of Love" is a very frequently played song in my favourite radio station. The voice like diamond - touch of Billy Holiday and completely new interpretation of very famous hit of Leonard Cohen, made a great impression to me. Then, when I saw 'Careless Love" CD in music store, I bought it without doubts. And I made a good decision, because this CD is very special. From last week, I am listening to it at home, at my car, at work, finding all the time something new.This CD is like a medicine for everyday stress, lets me take a deep, fresh breath and have a real joy of listen to Madleine voice and her interpretations.

One of my favourite CDs purchased this year, and the most favorite in late autumn...

I fell in love with Madeleine's voice when the first CD was played on BBC Radio 2 some years ago.  I tried to find a follow up but it seemed she had disappeared from the scene.  Then I found an advert for her appearance at the London Jazz Festival in November AND a new CD out -  I immediately bought tickets for the gig on November 14th and will be buying the CD as soon as I can get hold of it.  She's the best of the current chanteuses with the Lady Day influence for my money - good to see her back.
