I have had a communication from Madeleine, and can assure you she is ok and will be in the public eye again soon. I know she does not want her loyal friends and fans to worry.

WHY IS RICH HANSEN OBSCURING THE FACTS/?

Although Madeleine's last scheduled CONCERT was in
Edinborough, she was scheduled for important promotional
engagements for which she failed to show up without telling
anyone.

According to Universal UK, not even Madeleine's manager
knows where she is.

“Anxious record company bosses and her management
company have been trying to contact her for nearly a week to
no avail. She has simply disappeared."

And yet Rich Hansen says she's just taking a "well deserved
rest"

Why has Rounder not posted a huge banner on its Madeleine
website, saying that Madeleine is fine? THEY DON'T EVEN
MENTION THE 15 ARTICLES ABOUT HER DISAPPEARANCE
IN THE BRITISH PRESS- INCLUDING THE BBC.

I don't want to be a conspiracy theory nutcase, but telling us
fans that Madeleine is "fine" after the disasterous performance
in Edinborough and the missing of a major TV appearance in
London is insulting.

This website has been guilty of deception, censorship and
obfuscation in the past.

I for one would like real assurance that Madeleine is indeed
safe and in good hands. Why doesn't Madeleine write a note to
let us know she is alright?

Does anybody else give a damn?

Below is the article I quoted. Many more can be found by
searching Google news for Petroux. They are as cueent as last
night.

CHART STAR 'DISAPPEARS'

A private detective has been hired to trace jazz singer
MADELEINE PEYROUX.

The singer’s record company Universal Classics hired the
detective after the US artist failed to turn up for any promotional
work surrounding her latest album ’Careless Love’, which is
currently at 11 in the UK album charts.

It is not the first time Peyroux has vanished. She spent seven
years busking in Paris following the release of her debut album
’Dreamland in 1996.

According to BBC News, record bosses said that she was
“proving impossible to track down”.

Following her return to the music scene, she signed to
independent label Rounder Records, which now has a
licensing deal with Universal.

A spokeswoman for Universal said: “She should be overjoyed
with the album’s chart position, but she has now returned to
America and is proving impossible to track down.”

She added: “Anxious record company bosses and her
management company have been trying to contact her for
nearly a week to no avail. She has simply disappeared."

The company said that it had gone "to great lengths to protect
Madeleine from burn-out through too much promotional work".

The spokeswoman explained: “But it would seem that despite
these efforts Ms Peyroux has had enough. She is that rare
thing, an artist more interested in her music than in the glitz and
glamour of showbusiness."

IF THIS IS A PUBLICITY HOAX THEN SHAME ON THE
RECORD COMPANY- BUT A PUBLICITY HOAX DOES NOT
USUALLY INCLUDE A PERFORMANCE LIKE THE ONE IN
EDINBOROUGH.

Why would UK Universal hire a private investigator if
Madeleine's management know where she is?

Why doesn't Rounder make an announcement on it's
Madeleine website that she is okay. we are all worried.

Maybe Rounder and Madeleine's management are hiding the
fact that Madi is missing or unwell.

The  Edinburgh concert was the last schedule concert of her current European tour. So I believe Madeleine 'disappeared' to the US and some well deserved rest.

Her next scheduled appearance is on Sept 3 at Tanglewood.

From what I can gather, Universal UK are the only ones who think Madeleine has 'disappeared'.

As I get more information I will post it here.

Here's a review from Alison Kerr in the Herald.
Apparently this was Madeliene's last concert before she
disappeared. I think Madeleine's fans would appreciate a little
more information than "she's fine". It doesn't sound like she is.
Why do all the papers still say she is being searched for by a
private eye?

"There are two Madeleine Peyrouxes. There's the recording
studio Peyroux with the languid vocals whose album has
earned her the tag of the modern Billie Holiday. Then there's
the real Peyroux, with the strangulated cat-like vocals who
sounds like Billie Holiday would now – if she were exhumed 46
years after her death. "Her debut Scottish gig left those of us
hitherto familiar with only the former Peyroux seeking
counselling for musical trauma."Peyroux rendered her album
tracks almost unrecognisable. She sang flat. She screwed up
timing."She boomed one note and muffled the next, producing
an effect akin to seasickness in the listener. She looked as if
she was in pain for much of the concert – so she managed to
connect with the more disappointed members of the audience
on at least one level."
