On April 17th, Madeleine performed at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia, and was advertised as the featured artist. I attended (this would have been the 5th time I have gone to a Madeleine concert) and was dissappointed to learn she was the opening for another artist which I did not care for at all. She played only a half hour and was not nearly as good as previous concerts. I felt duped an may not attend future concerts. I still like her and will buy her new cds, as long as it is all Madeleine and not shared with other artists. Allan

I also attended that performance on April 17th. Madeleine played half the set solo and the other half with Julian Coryell and it was closer to an hour. There was no encore. Robert Edited by Robert |

hi, i must agree with allan. i have been a fan since 1996, i listen to "dreamland" so often, if it were a vinyl it would have been worn out time and time again. after calling the tin angel and purchasing my ticket i asked what time madeleine's set would be and would in fact would she be the featured artist , having been a fan for so many years and not being able to attend her other concerts, i wanted to make sure i would not miss a note of her marvelous voice, guitar, songs.....i was assured by the gent that took my reservation that she was in fact the featured artist, and would go on after the opening act."but you'll like him too",... i know i listen to wxpn....however, it became apparent soon after being seated that madeleine was the opening act.... a very short act and although i liked her new songs, voice, etc. my expectations were certainly not met as the original opening act became the feature act......... shame on the tin angel...... and they never apologized for the change either..... i think in the "real world" this is call "bait and switch".... |

I´m new to this chat, so forgive me if I´m not up to date on what´s been said. I also saw Madeleine at the Tin Angel that night. I had brought some friends and we did enjoy the show, but it was too short I was hoping that she would be playing with William Gallison. They were really super together. Is Madi not playing with William any more? Does anybody know why? I bought their Cd last time at the angel and I love it.

William and Madi are no longer playing together. The reason or reasons are not being discussed.
