Hey Guys
I was really chuffed to hear Madeleine recieved the international award at the BBC Jazz Awards - especially after Curtis Stigers got the Jazz Artist of the year. You can hear the highlights on RADIO TWO - listen in. The International Award was the pelnutimute award. Have a listen. Ricky Lee Jones made an interesting slip of the tongue and refered to it as the ultimate award (at least that is what I heard) Fantastic Madeleine! Madeleine's speech was short and simply expressed thanks and her pride in the music and then she went on to sing Dance Me to the End of Love. I would have liked to hear her speak a little more, but boy did she sound great when she sang. That's more than good enough for me. Great news - Madeleine was awarded Best International Jazz Artist at the BBC Jazz Awards held here in London on Wednesday 12th July. She was presented her award by Ricky Lee Jones and she performed Dance me to the end of Love at the awards ceremony. Check out the news articles on line. Many congratulations go out to Madeleine. Hi everyone I've voted for Madeleine again today. If there's anyone out there who hasn't voted for Madeleine, get on line and vote. The more votes the better. Wow - that is terrific news! A huge congratulations to Madi. I assume that as this is the BBC this is a pretty prestigious award in the UK. Come on folks get on line and vote! I just checked it out on line and we have until 29th March to vote. I can't wait to hear the results Lili |
