Hey,

I'm a semi pro harmonica player in Australia. I know of Wiliam Galison by
reputation and I have been a Madeleine Peyroux since I got Dreamland
along time ago. Didn't know they made a CD together until I read this
piece in a local harmonica magazine. Went out and bought Got you on my
mind and I'm loving it.

Here's the article from a mag called "Woodstock Australia". I thought you
all might enjoy this, even though its obviouolsy from a harmonica players
POV. By the way, Any chance of a these two playing together this side of
the world? Happy Chritmas.

Review "Got you on my mind"
William Galison & Madeleine Peyroux

IT IS VERY difficult to write an unbiased review on a record when you are
already infatuated with both performers. I was first introduced to
Madeleine Peyroux when my daughter bought me
"Careless Love" for a Christmas present. Madeleine combines musical
prodigy with a style reminiscent of the legendary Billie Holliday - the
same careless disregard of bar lines and rhythms which always enhances
rather than detracts from her performance. She can punch out a melody
with verve or seduce with a love song. She looks sexy and sounds sexy.
William Galison is one of the most accomplished \musicians of our times.
He is a superb harmonica player. His playing is unchained. His agility to
keep crafting beautiful phrasing, harmonics and melody lines around an
existing musical structure almost defies the imagination. Yet, to him it
appears effortless. As Benny Goodman was to the clarinet so is William
Galison to te harmonica.

Perhaps William goes even further since he can also feature as a guitarist
and a vocalist. So what happens when these two prodigies meet ? Their CD
"Got You On My Mind" is electrifying.

Track one "Back In Your Own Backyard" (the old Al Jolson song) blows the
listener away, with Madi on vocals and William on guitar. The backing
musicians throughout all the tracks are also first class. "J'ai Deux Amours"
is sung in French by Madeleine and is also a track on her previous disk
("Careless Love"). Her first version was slow and thoughtful, but here
William allows her to sing the song though once and then double times it
with some inspired harmonica work. Madeleine finishes with a back to
normal pace.

Track three is "Flambee Montalbanese" a beautiful musetta by Guy Viseur,
and is a second French insert. The backing group is Quadro Nueve.
William features on harmonica.

In "Got You on My Mind", William picks up the electric guitar and gives
Madeleine a little help by also singing along with her.

"Jealous Guy" written by John Lennon, is a beautiful melody made even
more so by William's long harmonica solo and we hear him also for the
first time as a solo vocalist.

"The Way You Look Tonight"; A 1930's Jerome Kern tune, was first sung
by Fred Astaire to Ginger Rogers in (I think) "Swing Time", an RKO movie.
Sung here by the marvellous Madeleine the track also features William on
both harmonica and guitar. I love the melody but I must admit I was
surprised to find it played so fast. Dorothy Field's haunting words seem to
me deserving of a slower
pace.

Track seven, "Rag For Madi" was composed by William and dedicated to,
in his own words, "The Beautiful, Talented and unpredictable Ms P". For
my money, this is the best track on the CD. Williams's solo is mind
blowing; the tune is catchy and finishes with an inspired duet featuring
William in tandem with his lifelong friend and mentor, clarinettist Brad
Terry.

"Playin'" is co-writ
